June 16, 2026 — Country music star Jelly Roll has filed for divorce from his wife, podcaster Bunnie XO, bringing an end to their nearly 10-year marriage.

According to court records reviewed by USA TODAY, the 41-year-old singer, whose legal name is Jason DeFord, filed for divorce from Alisa DeFord, better known as Bunnie XO, on May 18. The filing was first reported by TMZ on June 15.

Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO’s representatives have not made any public remarks regarding the divorce.

The couple married in 2016 and has frequently spoken about both the joys and challenges of their relationship. Over the years, they openly discussed topics including infertility, in vitro fertilization (IVF), and the process of rebuilding trust following infidelity.

Earlier this year, after winning the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Country Album, Jelly Roll delivered an emotional acceptance speech, dedicating the honor to Bunnie XO, who was visibly moved in the audience.

An Honest and Developing Relationship

In an October 2025 appearance on the Human School podcast, Jelly Roll publicly admitted to having an affair during their marriage.

Calling it “one of the worst moments” of his adult life, the singer said the couple invested significant effort into repairing their relationship and ultimately emerged stronger. He acknowledged that negative influences in his social circle contributed to his poor decisions, but did not disclose additional details about the affair.

Bunnie XO also reflected on their journey, writing that their relationship had to endure difficult challenges before it could be rebuilt on a stronger foundation.

Plans to Expand Their Family

Despite recent developments, the couple had previously shared plans to grow their family through IVF and surrogacy.

Jelly Roll is already the father of two children—Bailee Ann, 18, and Noah Buddy, 9—from previous relationships.

In her book Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, published in February, Bunnie XO revealed that the couple had found a surrogate and hoped to welcome twins.

She wrote that after achieving greater financial stability and emotional healing throughout their marriage, they looked forward to raising their future children in a loving and supportive home.
