Ajay Devgn-starrer ‘Drishyam 3: The Conclusion’ has opened to a strong response at the Indian box office, reportedly earning Rs 66.75 crore net on its first day, according to box-office tracking reports.

The film collected around Rs 80.10 crore gross in India, while its overseas business added another Rs 15 crore, taking its reported worldwide opening-day gross to approximately Rs 95 crore.

The opening has also set a new career benchmark for Devgn. His previous biggest opening came with Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’, which earned around Rs 43.50 crore net in India on its first day in 2024, according to trade reports.

‘Drishyam 3’ also recorded a higher opening than Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’, which collected Rs 57 crore on its first day, and Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’, which opened at around Rs 63 crore, based on reported domestic net figures.

Despite the strong start, ‘Drishyam 3’ does not rank as the highest Hindi-film opener of all time. Films from the ‘Dhurandhar’ franchise remain ahead on the reported all-time opening-day charts.

The film’s strong opening was preceded by substantial advance-booking activity. Trade reports said advance sales, which began on September 27, crossed Rs 50 crore, with more than 1.3 million tickets reportedly sold before release.

According to box-office tracking data, the film had more than 15,759 shows across India on its opening day. Reported occupancy rose throughout the day, from 46.38% in the morning to 70.15% in the afternoon, 75.31% in the evening and 76.46% at night. The overall reported occupancy for the day was 67.08%.

Pre-release estimates from some trade analysts had placed the film’s opening-day collection in the Rs 25–30 crore range. The reported final figure was substantially higher.

The opening also marks a significant rise from the earlier films in the franchise. The first ‘Drishyam’, released in 2015, opened at around Rs 5.85 crore and went on to earn approximately Rs 110 crore worldwide. ‘Drishyam 2’, released in 2022, collected around Rs 15.38 crore on its first day and eventually earned about Rs 342 crore worldwide, according to trade figures.

Directed by Abhishek Pathak, ‘Drishyam 3: The Conclusion’ features Devgn alongside Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Yadav, Jaideep Ahlawat, Tabu and Prakash Raj, among others.
