Dhaka: Bangladesh’s tour of Nepal has been officially confirmed, with the two teams set to play a three-match T20I series in March 2027.

The matches will be held in Kathmandu on March 26, 28 and 30, according to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

The series will be dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives in the devastating floods that recently hit Nepal.

Bangladesh-Nepal T20I Series Confirmed

Discussions over a possible Bangladesh tour of Nepal had been underway for some time, with the BCB previously indicating that it was positive about the proposed series.

The schedule was discussed further during a meeting between Bangladesh’s State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque and Nepal’s ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanshyam Bhandari.

Bhandari later met BCB president Tamim Iqbal to discuss the proposed T20I series and broader cricketing cooperation between the two countries.

The three-match series is being viewed by the BCB as an opportunity to bring Bangladesh and Nepal closer through cricket.

According to the board, the series will also provide an opportunity to convey a message of friendship and solidarity at a time when Nepal is recovering from the devastating impact of the floods.

BCB Promises Continued Support for Nepal Cricket

During the discussions, Tamim Iqbal assured the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) of continued support for the development of cricket in the country.

The areas of cooperation are expected to include men’s and women’s team exchanges, high-performance programmes, training, technical assistance and other development initiatives.

The planned cooperation aims to strengthen cricketing ties between Bangladesh and Nepal beyond the upcoming T20I series.

Bangladesh’s T20I Record Against Nepal

Bangladesh has faced Nepal only twice in T20I cricket so far, and both encounters have been at the T20 World Cup.

Bangladesh won both matches, giving them a 100 percent winning record against Nepal in the format.

The three-match series in Kathmandu will therefore mark another chapter in the cricketing relationship between the two nations, while giving both teams an opportunity to build on their previous encounters.
