NEW DELHI: Former Pakistan captain and batting legend Javed Miandad made insensitive remarks at the factor of India’s refusal to trip to Pakistan for the approaching Asia Cup match mentioning safety causes.
Speaking in a podcast hosted through Nadir Ali, Miandad Tried to dilute the Indian issues about safety announcing lifestyles and dying don’t seem to be in our palms.
“Forget security. We believe that agar maut aani hai toh aani hai. Zindagi aur maut toh allah ke haath mein hai..(If death is your destiny, it will come for sure. Life and death are in the hands of the Almighty) Miandad said in the podcast.
Miandad also added that if India invites Pakistan, they will visit their neighbours. But want India to reciprocate, adding that it is India’s turn to visit Pakistan.
“If they name us lately, we will be able to cross. But they will have to go back too. The factor is the closing time we went, however they have not come right here since. It’s their flip now,” the ex-Pakistan skipper added.
Pakistan is due to host the Asia Cup in September but uncertainty surrounds the venue of the tournament as India has made it clear it cannot play in Pakistan.
Pakistan had earlier warned that they might skip the upcoming ODI World Cup in response to India’s stand on Asia Cup in Pakistan. But they have mellowed down a bit and according to reports the Pakistan cricket team would prefer playing bulk of its 2023 ODI World Cup matches in Chennai and Kolkata — the two venues where the team has felt safe during its earlier tours.
Earlier, former Pakistan captain Imran Khan called the BCCI ‘arrogant’.
“It is a tragic and unlucky affair, the connection between Pakistan and India. There is a large number of conceitedness in the way in which India now behaves within the cricketing international as a superpower. Because in their talent to generate a large number of finances, greater than every other nation, I feel they nearly dictate now as a form of conceitedness of an ideal energy of who they will have to play and who they should not,” Imran advised Times Radio.
