Salman Shah Films Return to TV in 30th Death Anniversary Tribute
DHAKA, Bangladesh — Salman Shah, one of the most enduring icons of Dhallywood cinema, is being remembered with a weeklong television tribute marking the 30th anniversary of his death.
Deepto TV has organized a special program featuring seven of the late actor’s films, with one movie scheduled to air each day at 2:30 p.m. from Sept. 5 through Sept. 11.
The tribute began Saturday with Shah Alam Kiran’s Bichar Hobe, starring Salman Shah alongside Shabnur, Raisul Islam Asad, Dolly Johur and Humayun Faridi.
On Sunday, the 30th anniversary of Salman Shah’s death, the channel will air M.A. Khaled’s Shopner Thikana. The film also features Shabnur, Sonia, Rajib, Dolly Johur and Abul Hayat.
The lineup continues Sept. 7 with Shibli Sadik’s Anondo Osru, starring Salman Shah and Shabnur alongside Kanchi, Dolly Johur and Humayun Faridi.
Malek Afsari’s Ei Ghor Ei Songsar, featuring Brishti, Rosie Afsari, Bulbul Ahmed, Aliraj and Tomalika Karmakar, will air Sept. 8.
On Sept. 9, viewers can watch Zakir Hossain Raju’s Jibon Songsar, which stars Salman Shah, Shabnur, Farooque, Bobita and Golam Mustafa.
Reza Hasmat’s Prem Piyashi, featuring Salman Shah, Shabnur, Anwara, Rajib and Misha Sawdagor, is scheduled for Sept. 10.
The tribute will conclude Sept. 11 with Badal Khandakar’s Shopner Prithibi, starring Salman Shah alongside Shabnur, Rajib, Bobita and Raisul Islam Asad.
Three decades after his death, Salman Shah remains a beloved figure in Bangladeshi popular culture. His films, particularly those associated with the romance and youthful energy of 1990s Bangladeshi cinema, continue to resonate with audiences across generations.
Deepto TV’s weeklong program offers fans an opportunity to revisit some of the films that helped cement Salman Shah’s lasting legacy in Dhallywood.
