“We’re making it more straightforward to find Reels on fb through including them to the highest of the Watch tab and introducing new controls so you’ll give us comments on content material you need to peer kind of of,” Mark Zuckerberg shared on his channel.
Personalizing Reels on Facebook
Similar to personalization tools, Facebook aims at giving more control to users over the reels that come across the app.
Show more, Show less
By tapping the three-dot menu at the bottom of the video player with two options available- Show More or Show Less, users can inform the type of Reel they want to see. The option is located below Reels as well as videos in your Watch feed.
Selecting Show More on a reel will temporarily increase its ranking score and for reels like it. Selecting Show Less will temporarily decrease its ranking score. By doing this, Facebook is capturing users’ preferences and is making Reels rank smarter and more attuned as per preferences.
Contextual labels
Additionally, Facebook has also launched new labels on the Reels video player to explain why you’re seeing certain reels — for example, because a friend of yours liked it.
“On Facebook, you can discover people, content, and experiences that help you explore and grow in your interests. Reels also continue to become more social with people re-sharing reels across our apps more than 2 billion times every day, doubling over the last six months,” Facebook shared in a weblog submit.
