DUBAI — The co-pilot allegedly involved in an incident aboard a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv has been identified by several U.S. media outlets.

CNN identified the co-pilot as 29-year-old Hamam Al-Hamani, an Omani national who grew up in the United Arab Emirates.

According to CNN, Al-Hamani’s LinkedIn profile showed that he worked for Oman Air for about seven years before leaving the airline in February 2025. He joined Morocco’s Royal Air Maroc in June 2025 and left the carrier in June 2026.

The LinkedIn profile did not list Flydubai among his employers. A source confirmed to CNN that the account belonged to Al-Hamani. The profile has since been deleted.

CNN reported that Al-Hamani studied aviation management at Buckinghamshire New University in England, completing his degree in 2023 through online study.

His X and Instagram accounts have also been deleted, according to CNN. The network said it had previously located an Instagram video that appeared to show Israeli aircraft filmed from an aircraft cockpit.

CNN also reported that the end of the video contained images of former al-Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahiri and Humam Khalil Abu-Mulal al-Balawi, a Jordanian who carried out a deadly 2009 attack at a CIA facility in Afghanistan.

Another social media post reportedly contained AI-generated images depicting Islam’s three holy sites — Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem — accompanied by an Islamic poem.

The reported social media material does not, by itself, establish the motive behind the incident or demonstrate a direct connection between the posts and what occurred aboard the flight. Authorities have not publicly established such a link.
