Nepalese officers stated right here that the Nepal authorities has drawn up a government-level cooperation settlement with India to hunt lend a hand in putting in two different petroleum pipeline initiatives. A suggestion on this regard has been ready and despatched to the Government of India.
Prior to this, a 69-km lengthy petroleum pipeline challenge between Motihari in Bihar and Amlekhganj in Nepal has been established and is operational for 3 years. The pipeline, arrange with the assistance of India, used to be commissioned in September 2019 and is getting used to provide diesel to Nepal.
Now the Nepal authorities is looking for India’s lend a hand in laying a 52-km-long pipeline between Siliguri in West Bengal and Jhapa in Nepal, and a 69-km-long pipeline between the 2 cities of Nepal – Amlekhganj and Lothar.
The Siliguri-Jhapa pipeline is estimated to price Rs 288 crore whilst the Amlekhganj-Chitwan pipeline is estimated to price Rs 128 crore.
Urmila KC, Under Secretary within the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Nepal, stated that those two pipelines are deliberate to be arrange as an extension of the Motihari-Amlekhganj pipeline.
He stated, “The work of detailed survey of these projects has already been completed by a joint team of both the countries. Now we are waiting for India’s approval for signing the MoU for the construction of these projects.
He said that after the completion of these pipelines, besides fuel supply to the aircraft, the supply of other petroleum products would also become easier.
